The short answer
One photo in, one Tiny Desk AI video out
MemeReel turns your photo into the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI video: you sing lead, with an optional friend on sax at no extra charge. Made with Seedance 2.5, the 19-second vertical MP4 includes the original Outstanding audio, with no watermark; custom songs are not supported. Choose 480p ($9.90 or 10 credits) or 720p ($14.90 or 19 credits). Allow 5–12 minutes. Pick photos in your browser, then sign in to generate. No app or subscription. If generation fails, retry a single-video purchase without paying again, or receive the credits used back.
How to make a Tiny Desk AI video
- 1
Add your lead singer's photo
One clear, front-facing photo. You get the profile shot and the laughing close-up.
- 2
Put a friend on sax
Optional, same price. Leave it empty and our band's sax player takes the solo.
- 3
Download and post it
Choose 480p ($9.90 or 10 credits) or 720p ($14.90 or 19 credits), ready in 5–12 minutes. After payment, click Generate video, then download the MP4 with the song and label it as AI parody.
What is the Tiny Desk AI trend?

What it means
A roast with a smile. The lead belts the song and laughs like nothing went wrong, which is funnier when everybody knows the week they just had: a lost game, a bad bet, a Monday.
Casting is the joke. Who sings lead is who the video is about; who ends up on the sax is the punchline, the way NFL versions put a team owner or a reporter there.
The song: Outstanding by The Gap Band
It's “Outstanding” by The Gap Band, as Charlie Wilson sang it at his NPR Tiny Desk concert in June 2023. Your Tiny Desk AI video keeps the same 19 seconds of it.
Looking for the Outstanding Tiny Desk AI template?
You do not need CapCut, a camera filter or a separate template to use MemeReel. This page provides the Outstanding template: the viral clip's shots and sound, with your photo in the lead role. Add a photo at the top, no app needed.
A Tiny Desk AI generator without the catch
The real Outstanding song
The original recording, the full 19 seconds, so the laugh and the sax solo land on the beat. Everyone you didn't cast is our own fictional band, never the real coaches.
No app, no template
It works in your phone's browser, no CapCut needed. Pick your photo first; you sign in only when you make the video.
Your look, on stage
Seedance 2.5 uses your photo to edit your face, hair and outfit in the lead shots. Choose 480p or 720p for the full 19-second MP4; an optional sax photo costs no extra credits.
Pay per video
One complete video costs $9.90 at 480p or $14.90 at 720p, with no subscription. Credit packs are optional. If generation fails, retry your single-video purchase without paying again; credits used return automatically.
Tiny Desk AI questions
What is Tiny Desk AI?
Tiny Desk AI describes AI-made desk concert videos. MemeReel recreates the Outstanding meme as a 19-second clip with you singing lead and an optional friend on sax; it is a fixed template, not a tool for creating any concert or song.
Is Tiny Desk AI free?
No. A complete video costs $9.90 at 480p or $14.90 at 720p as a one-time payment. You can use credits instead. There is no subscription.
How much does a Tiny Desk AI video cost?
One complete 19-second video costs $9.90 at 480p or $14.90 at 720p, with or without a sax photo. You can instead use 10 credits at 480p or 19 at 720p. Credit packs are optional: 10 credits for $9.90, 30 credits for $24.90, 100 credits for $69.90. Credits never expire.
Is there a Tiny Desk AI filter, template or app?
No filter or app is needed. This page works as the template: add a photo in your browser and download the finished MP4.
Can I use my own photo and song?
Your own photo, yes; your own song, no. MemeReel uses the fixed Outstanding audio and performance. There is no song upload, custom lyrics or lip sync to another track.
Can I make a Tiny Desk AI video without signing up?
No. You can watch the example and pick photos before signing in, but you need an account and either a single-video purchase or enough credits to generate and download your own video.
Is the Starter pack enough for a 720p video?
No. A 720p video costs 19 credits; the $9.90 Starter pack contains 10. You can pay $14.90 for just one 720p video without buying credits. If you prefer credits, top up the shortfall or choose the Creator pack (30 credits for $24.90), which covers one 720p video with 11 credits left.
Does it use the real Outstanding song?
Yes, the original recording, the same 19 seconds as the viral clip. Lip sync is close but not word-perfect.
How many people can be in it?
Two: you on lead (required) and a friend on sax (optional). Your friend can send their photo from anywhere. The rest of the band is our own fictional band.
Is it a face swap?
Not quite. Seedance 2.5 redraws your people from their photos, with their face, hair and outfit, while the set, performance and timing stay from the clip.
What photo should I use?
One adult per photo, facing the camera in good light, wearing what you want to wear in the video.
Can I use a celebrity, a child or a pet?
No. Only adults who agreed to it; no public figures, children or pets.
What do I receive?
A 19-second vertical 9:16 MP4 at 480p or 720p, with the song and no watermark.
How long does it take?
Usually 5 to 8 minutes, or 8 to 12 with a sax photo. Your video waits for you in My activity.
Is this an official NPR video?
No. MemeReel is not affiliated with NPR, Tiny Desk Concerts, Charlie Wilson or The Gap Band. Label your post as AI parody.
What happens to my photos?
They stay on your device until you start the video, then are used only to make it and deleted within 30 days (sooner on request at support@memereel.net). We don't train AI on them.
What if it fails?
Rejected photos do not use credits, and an existing single-video purchase stays available for another permitted photo. If generation fails, your single-video purchase becomes available to retry without paying again, or the credits used return automatically. If the video still cannot be delivered, contact support@memereel.net with your order reference for help or a refund.
